Joanna Goger

Joanna is a Principal Lecturer in the Environmental Science & Policy Program and Co-Director of the Sustainability Studies Minor at the University of Maryland College Park. Joanna’s teaching focuses on federal environmental law and policy. She is a graduate of Duke University and received her law degree from the University of Maryland School of Law. Before starting her teaching career, Joanna served as a trial attorney in the Environment and Natural Resources Division of the U.S. Department of Justice where she litigated cases involving the Klamath River Basin in Oregon and the Florida Everglades. Joanna is a lifetime resident of Maryland. She grew up hiking and exploring the outdoors near Frederick and now enjoys boating on the Severn River and Chesapeake Bay with her husband and three children.
