In Memory of John Wright
Published: March 7, 2019
We regret to announce that we have lost a dear friend and Saefern Community neighbor, John Wright, who passed away Feb. 15.

John Wright
John shaped quite a legacy as a long-time SRA Board Member who provided invaluable help with fundraising and strategic planner.
John also found time and considerable energy to create our Educational Speaker Series. In his memory, this educational program has been renamed the John Wright Speaker Series.
In 2018, John received SRA’s prestigious Blue Heron Award for his dedicated service to protecting the Severn River.
And, knowing that life is full of fun as well as challenges, John made sure the SRA Speaker Series included family fun events, such as fishing, bird watching, raising oysters and hunting for underwater grasses.
Thanks to John’s leadership, these meetings have grown into a monthly social event to catch up with friends who care about the Severn River.

A funeral service will be held on March 14 at St. John Neuman Church at 9 am.
The Wright family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations should be made to SRA in John’s memory. This can be done at: https://severnriver.org/donate/
Here are a handful of memories of John’s work with SRA.
