What A Day It Was …Searching For SAV

Published: December 11, 2018

We’d like thank our pals at Crosby Marketing & Communications for their help this year in tracking and mapping our underwater grasses in the Severn River.

Here’s a quick photo essay from the Crosby Day of Service event on Sept. 27, where 20 volunteers from Crosby got out in borrowed kayaks, learned to identify Redhead from Widgeon from Sago Pondweed and helped geo-locate where all our submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV) are thriving in the Severn River.

It was their induction day for the SAV ‘Navy,” and special thanks goes out to all the volunteers and the boat captains who donated their time to help ferry the crew to the remote areas in Round Bay where the SAV thrives.

See ya next year!
