How To (Properly) Trim Trees In The Critical Area
Published: March 8, 2019
When trees need maintenance, trimming and even removal, what is the best way to take care of them in the critical area?
To find out, join us Wednesday, March 20, at Union Jack’s Pub in Parole for the next John Wright Speaker Series presentation sponsored by the Severn River Association (SRA).

Bartlett Tree’s Tyler Balderson
Our guest speaker will be Tyler Balderson, managing director of Bartlett Trees.
Tyler will explain the proper ways to manage trees in the Critical Area.
He’ll also address issues like the notorious “Chesapeake Haircut,” permitting requirements, the best species for steep slopes, and recognizing distressed trees before they die.
Legislative Update
State Senator Sarah Elfreth, or one of her staff members, will update us on the status of proposed bills before the Maryland legislature that would boost environmental enforcement at the county level, protect oyster sanctuaries and protect trees and forests.
