Call For Volunteers: Water Quality Crews Forming
Published: March 7, 2022
Starting this April, SRA’s famous water quality (WQ) monitoring program will begin for the 2022 monitoring season. We could use your help!

Our WQ Crew Studying Conditions In The Severn River.
By joining our WQ crew, you’ll be:
- tracking conditions in your river,
- collecting scientific data that is shared with the regulatory and scientific communities,
- discovering places you’ve never seen,
- meeting new friends, and
- enjoying a lovely morning on the water.
Each week are intrepid WQ crews monitor 51 stations all across the watershed – from the mouth of the river to the headwaters at Indian Landing.
There are four tours a week — Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings — each lasting roughly 2.5 to 3 hours.
It’s a great way to meet new friends, contribute to scientific endeavor and enjoy a day on the river.
