Based on last year’s huge success with Operation Build-A-Reef, we’re getting the gang back together for another big push to plant millions more oysters. As The Capital reported this week, the 47 million oysters spat-on-shell planted last year are doing great! Click here to read the report.

This year, we’re reaching out to our Severn River communities to help plant 10-million more oysters on the historic oyster reefs between the Rt. 50 and USNA Bridges.

The Severn River Association and Oyster Recovery Partnership are seeking community support to plant 10 million oysters on historical oyster reefs in the Severn River this summer as part this year’s Operation Build-a-Reef.

“This is a great opportunity for everyone to get involved in helping improve water quality in the Severn River, and it’s rather easy,” explains SRA President David Barker.

“A simple donation now to plant a bushel of oysters helps ensure that your children and grandkids will have a cleaner Severn River to enjoy with their children.”

This year, the Operation Build-A-Reef partners, the Oyster Recovery Partnership and the Severn River Association, are asking for your help to help raise $50,000 to purchase and plant 10-million more oysters on the historic oyster reefs between the Rt. 50 and USNA Bridges
