Announcing New Website with Water Quality Data
Published: June 29, 2026
SRA is excited to show you a new data visualization system created for SRA by TechZone MD—the Water Quality Data Acquisition Solution, WQDAS!
For those unfamiliar with our water quality monitoring program: SRA monitors 31 stations on the Severn River weekly from April through October. We measure dissolved oxygen, pH, salinity, temperature, and water clarity. In 2026, we added sampling for chlorophyll a, nitrogen and phosphorus. These must be sent to a lab and won’t be updated weekly.
This website allows you to see all of SRA’s monitoring data in one place, featuring interactive graphs. SRA will upload all samples at the end of every week throughout the monitoring season.
This website will allow you to find the station closest to your house and check out the historical trends for your area, or anywhere else along the Severn River.
The parameters are explained in the FAQ tab, with expected levels indicated. As always, thank you for your support of SRA and our monitoring program. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Mollie@severnriver.org.
Check out this tutorial on how to use the new platform.
